Would you ever go on vacation or camping alone with your child(ren)?

My son is 3 and would LOVE to go camping. So far the only real trips we have taken are drivable and involve a night or two in a hotel. If you were a single parent, or if your SO was deployed, would you consider a 'real' vacation alone with the kiddo?
