How do I teach my future children (if any) right off the bat that we are animals?

When I get older, and if I have children, I don't want to teach them that we are "higher beings" or "superior beings", because I don't believe in that stuff. I believe we are animals, and no better or no worse than them. More intelligent, yes. But not much different. So how do I teach my children that belief without them getting too confused. And I don't want answers from Bible-thumpers or other religious fanatics, I want answers from my fellow evolutionists (those that believe in evolution).
