Why are people on the West Coast in your opinion?
Allowed to be more outspoken? Demonstrations for a variety of causes by the tens of thousands in S.F., Seattle, L.A., etc. I'm from S.F. and I'm visiting Texas and am thoroughly disgusted about how conformist and narrow the people are here. Unless it's related to bible thumping or white supremacy-mostly undercover, as none of them admit it although their actions say otherwise-they don't, and won't hear of it nor want to see it. Their solution for the poor and underpriveleged are for them to sit around reading Galatians and the fried chicken fairy will just crap a 12 piece out of the sky along with a house and car to go along with it *plop*. What's even worse is that the VAST majority of the poor here have never visited, let alone lived anywhere outside the bible belt so they actually believe it! And if you try to display, let alone verbalize other ways to assist, you get shut down. It's like a police state! If you're not a conservative bourgeois bible thumper then you're communist. That's freedom??? We're allowed to express our opinions out on the Coast, in the open, without fear of being ostracized in every way if we don't adhere to what someone else wants us to be. Now I see why the South has the history and reputation they do. Almost every group during the civil rights movement that did more than preach bible versus was from the West Coast. What are your theories as to why this is, and apparently always has been?
